Ministries:

Children’s And Teen Ministries

First Presbyterian Church offers a wide variety of ways for our children to grow into a deeper faith; from a lovingly staffed nursery for the smallest children to our interactive Sunday School Program ZONE for children up to middle school age. There are additional programs offered during worship and during the summer that add to the wide range of things we do. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me.” And we are taking the role of children’s growth as young Christians as a very important one by offering many varieties of things for them to participate in.

Adult Ministries

Small groups are very important to the life of First Presbyterian Church. Few experiences encourage and build our faith more than small group membership. Small groups teach us how to better know, understand, and apply God’s word in our daily lives. They also become a place of good friendship and caring. We encourage all who participate in the life of First Presbyterian Church to become members of a small group.

There are one or more small groups meeting on most any day of the week. For information on how you can get involved in a small group, please contact Pastor John Walker or the church office (815-433-1045).

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect

“Our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful part of us.”

Romans 12:2

Let’s Worship Together

First Presbyterian Church welcomes all who would like to join us in worship of our Risen Lord and King. Whether you are visiting Ottawa, new to town and looking for a church home, or someone who is just looking to learn more about this man called Jesus, we gladly welcome you to join us as we live out what it means to be the loving community of Jesus Christ.
